Watercolor
This course is designed for anyone wishing to begin or review their skills in the exciting medium of watercolor. Robin will introduce materials and demonstrate a variety of fundamental watercolor techniques. Students will be given individual attention and encouraged to used learned techniques to develop simple paintings as the course progresses. To the first class bring an Arches cold press 140 lb watercolor block 10” x 14”, synthetic watercolor brushes, 1” flat and #8 round, small tubes of professional grade watercolor paints in permanent rose or alizarin crimson, quinacridone red, cadmium lemon, aureolin yellow, French ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, cobalt blue, burnt sienna, and a plastic palette. Robin has a BFA in painting from RISD and has been painting watercolors for over 30 years, continuing her education in workshops and classes. She exhibits her work in juried shows throughout New England and has won many awards. She is drawn to the special nature and versatility of watercolor and is eager to share what she has learned over the years.
