Printmaking, Using Elements Of Nature

Term:
Winter/Spring 2010

This printmaking class is for anyone who would like to explore the exciting possibilities of image-making. We will use the elements of nature (leaves, flowers, grasses, stems, seeds, etc.) to create images on paper using non-toxic printmaking inks and an etching press to impress the image onto paper. The teacher will demonstrate and assist the student in the creation of this “one-of-a-kind” image called a monotype. This is a simple and direct method of art-making that produces surprising and satisfying results. Please see the SCAA website for a materials list. No prior drawing or painting experience is necessary.
