With an emphasis on composition, mixing colors, and learning to use a variety of materials, this course will supply the learning tools to create pictures that satisfy the painter and the viewer. Demonstrating oil pastel techniques, working from photos and class critiques will be the routine. How to frame finished paintings and requirements for entry into exhibits will also be discussed. The last class will show artists how to inexpensively turn their works of art into greeting cards.

Peggy majored in fine art and after college she attended The Arts Students League in New York, and continued at School of Visual Arts. She has a fine knowledge of Art History, and a reverence for painting. Among other venues, she has shown in South County Art Association, Wickford Art Association, Bill Krul Gallery, and Spring Bull Gallery in Newport. She is an original member of “Circle of Six,” a group of well known Rhode Island painters.
