When handbuilding with clay there are many exciting and varied ways to work. In this class you will learn techniques and tips that can help you make the most of your material. Whether you are a dedicated thrower looking to broaden your skills, a complete newcomer to ceramics, or a handbuilder looking to enliven your studio practice this class will get you there. Foundational skills, slab building processes, pattern making and creating texture will be covered in this technique-heavy class. Students will be encouraged to make small pieces, to build skills and experience quickly. We will also touch briefly on the basics of glazing.
