98th Members Annual Exhibition Eligibility All SCAA members are invited to exhibit one original work in any media. Works must have been completed in the last 2 years and not have been shown previously at SCAA. All entries will be exhibited. Opening Reception Public Opening Saturday, June 14, 7-9 PM. (Rain Date: June 15) Dinner Under the Trees A ticketed event celebrating our members with music, dinner and Juror's Talk that takes place right before the opening reception in our backyard. click here for tickets Awards Ann Lewis Parker Award (best watermedia) $100 Lorenzo and Elizabeth Kinney Award (best floral any media) $100 Dorcas Toney Award (best functional pottery) $100 Visconti Sculpture Award (best sculpture) $100 Mary Ann Carney Award (pottery) $100 Best Abstract $100 Best Photograph $100 Best Oil/Acrylic $100 Best Drawing, Print or Pastel $100 Best Mixed Media, Collage or Assemblage $100 Three Honorable Mention Awards Entry Fee No entry fee (suggested donation of $15 or a bottle of wine is greatly appreciated) Framing 2D work must be wired and ready for hanging. Vertical measurement is not to exceed 36” Horizontal measurement is not to exceed 30”. Sculpture must be easily transportable. Sales SCAA retains 30% on all sales. Delivery All entries must be hand-delivered to SCAA, June 4 - 8, from 1-5 pm each day. Pick-up All work should be picked up on Sunday, July 13 between 1-5 pm or during regular gallery hours the following week. If you want to donate to our Art Heist, bring along a donated artwork when you come pick up your piece. Juror Awards will be selected by Juror: David Barnes David Barnes is an artist and teacher who lives in Middletown RI with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. Primarily a painter, his work engages contemporary social and political issues through the lens of landscape painting. He holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree in painting from UMASS Dartmouth and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of New Hampshire. He has received numerous awards and grants for his work including the Pollock-Krasner Grant in 2016. His work is held by the RISD Museum, Salve Regina University, Newport Art Museum and numerous private collections. He currently teaches at UMASS Dartmouth, Bristol Community College in Fall River and the Newport Art Museum. website: www.davidbarnesart.com |
