Calls for Entries

Open Juried Photography Annual

Eligibility 
​All artists are invited to submit up to 3 original works in any photography/lens based media.
Works must have been finished in the last 2 years and NOT shown at SCAA previously.

Delivery
All entries must be hand-delivered to SCAA, March 8-12, from 1-5 pm each day.

Opening
Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on March 16, 7-9 PM

Awards
1st Place ($200), 2nd Place ($125), 3rd Place ($75) cash awards. 3 Honorable Mentions.

Entry Fee
Members: $20 for single entry, $15 each for multiple entries
Non-Members: $25 for single entry, $20 each for multiple entries.
Student / Military Veteran: $12 per entry (with valid ID).
Entry Fees are non-refundable.

Framing
All work must be wired and ready for hanging.  No one measurement is to exceed 48”.

Sales
SCAA retains 30% on all sales for members, 35% for non-members. 

Pick-up 
Entries not accepted may be picked up Wed - Sun, 1 - 5 pm, starting March 15.
Accepted work should be picked up on Sunday, April 16, from 1 - 5 pm. 

Juror
John Hames is a photography instructor at Rhode Island School of Design (CE) and has also taught at the University of Rhode Island (URI) and Rhode Island College (RIC). He is the founder and director of Studio Without Walls Photography Workshops, and has taught workshops in Nepal, China, and the U.S. In 2007, John taught photography at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in Beijing. He is the recipient of various awards and Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) fellowships, and his work has been exhibited in China, Italy, and various venues in the U.S. John was the recipient of the 2017-2018 RISD|CE Teacher of Excellence Award, and has published 11 books of his photographs. John received a BA in Education from URI and an MFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.​
