From Good to Great: focusing on the details - July 21 - Sept 8, 2020 (ONLINE ONLY)
This online Zoom course will help train your eyes and hands to pay closer attention to key areas of a vessel that are sometimes overlooked. We will look at traditional vessel silhouettes, gain an understanding of negative space and balance and how they pertain to pottery forms, visual and physical weight, types and placement of handles and knobs, trimmed and knobbed feet, and various types of spouts. We will also discuss finishing touches like maker marks (initial stamps), sanding and grinding off glaze drips.
This course is intended for people who have already taken Pottery 1 and or a basic hand building course.
