Drawn to the beauty and variety of natural form, humans have for centuries chosen to
understand the world around them through direct observation and recording. Working from live botanical specimens, students will explore drawing and watercolor painting techniques while working weekly in their sketchbooks. This course will allow students to dive deeper into their drawing and watercolor practice. Students will learn how to work with the unique, transparent qualities of watercolor while getting more comfortable with color. Basic color selection and mixing will be covered as well as layering and creating detail.
