Oil & Cold Wax Workshop | February 14
On the first day of this three-day workshop artists will learn how to mix cold wax with their oil paints, how to prepare the paper, how to apply the oil & cold wax to the paper without the use of brushes, how to create various textures by using stencils, a variety of mark making tools. A demonstration of the oil & cold wax process will be done for those new to this medium. Artists will also gesso the wooden cradled panels in preparation for the second day of the workshop. Once the panel(s) has been gessoed three times, the panel will be ready for use on the second day of the workshop.
On the second day, time will be spent painting on the wooden cradled panels and/or on more paper. Artists will take home at least 3-5 paintings on paper and 1-2 paintings on wooden cradled panels.
On the third day, artists will continue their paintings on their wooden cradled panels or on paper. Included in this third day will be a demonstration showing how to professionally frame a painting on paper.
