Pit Fire | October 2
Discover the magic of this ancient pottery technique. Pit firing is an atmospheric process. All of the colors and patterns are derived from the process and what is consumed by the fire. There will be the opportunity to experiment with materials such as salt, coffee grounds, nut shells, and copper wire, to name just a few possibilities. On the first day students will learn to apply Terra Sig and what to bring for the next class. During the second class the kiln will be loaded and fired. Bone dry pots will be needed for the first class.
