Masks have been used for centuries and in all cultures of the world to celebrate, honor, inspire, transition, represent, hide, protect, transform. Rituals and artifacts can represent transitions or be used to set intentions, mark events or celebrations. In this four session workshop, you will create a plaster mask of your face to be used as a mold for making a clay mask.
Session 1 - Samples of masks and discussion of process. Make plaster mask on your face.
Session 2- Discussion of imagery and symbolism and create clay mask from plaster mask
Session 3- Discussion of surface treatment options and glazing clay mask.
Session 4- Finish product sharing and further embellishment of the mask with other materials.
No clay experience necessary and a fun experience to share. All materials provided. Materials fee of $12 paid to instructor.
