giving back
As a nonprofit arts organization, our mission thrives through the involvement of our members and the support of our community.
We welcome opportunities to bring greater awareness of the arts to the public and create moments where people can come together through a shared love of art.
coming together to fight hunger
Artists from the South County Art Association came together to create and donate 132 handmade bowls for this year’s Empty Bowls fundraiser supporting the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Each bowl was individually crafted and stamped with the artist’s potter’s mark before being packed and delivered for the event.
Empty Bowls is an international project that brings artists and communities together to raise awareness and funds to fight hunger. During the fundraiser, guests enjoy tastings from some of Rhode Island’s best restaurants and take home a handcrafted bowl created by a local artist—a lasting symbol of the community coming together to address food insecurity.
We are proud to contribute to this meaningful event each year and grateful to the artists who donate their time and talent to support the cause. Through efforts like these, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank continues its mission to improve the quality of life for Rhode Islanders by advancing solutions to hunger.
