annual events

together we create community.

several times throughout the year we gather with our members and local community to celebrate and share creativity, friendship and foster new connections.

traditions that bring our creative community together.

Annual Quality Seconds Pottery Sale

Each May, SCAA holds the Annual Quality Seconds Sale (formerly the MAC Sale) during the Kingston Hill Fair, offering the community “quality seconds” of pottery made in the SCAA Pottery Studio.

All proceeds go directly to the Pottery Education Program.

The MAC Fund is a lasting example of how a few generous people created a meaningful legacy in memory of a special friend and potter. One person’s caring truly makes a difference.

Dinner Under the Trees

Each July, we gather in our backyard garden to celebrate the creative community that makes the South County Art Association so special. Enjoy an evening of dinner, music, and cocktails surrounded by fellow artists, friends, and supporters.

Guests will also have the opportunity to preview the Annual Members Exhibition before the evening’s awards presentation. Our Guest Juror of Awards, will announce the ten award winners and share insights into his selections.

Dinner Under the Trees is a time to come together, celebrate fellow artists, and reflect on the rich history of SCAA—beginning in 1927 when a small group of artists first gathered to exhibit their work. Today, more than 500 members continue that tradition, representing a vibrant and diverse creative community.

Earthworks

For the past 52 years, we've invited established ceramic artists to visit and jury our Annual Earthworks Exhibition. It begins with a public jurying, where potters can receive feedback from the juror about their pieces and attend a workshop the next day, where the juror will share their creative process. The opening reception brings together artists who have been influencial in our local ceramic arts for half a century.
