Jeneane Lunn

2D Instructor | Painting | Pastels

After taking classes in Oklahoma from the time I was 13, I studied at the Cape School of Art with Henry Hensche and at the Art Students League of New York. I moved to Rhode Island in June 2021 from Vermont where I was a professional artist and instructor for the Community College of Vermont and various art organizations as well as a high school art teacher for many years.

In Rhode Island I have been teaching for South County Art Association, Wickford Art Association, and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. Soft pastels are my favorite medium for painting outside. It is possible to finish a pastel quickly without worry about getting muddy colors. I love painting landscape in Rhode Island. The long spring and fall season are great and the extensive variety provides lots of opportunities for plein air painting. I consider myself an impressionist and strive to capture the changing light effects of nature.

I have a Kindle Book on Amazon about painting in soft pastels in Italy called, Exploring Landscape in Pastels: A Painter’s Diary. You can also watch pastel, oils, acrylic and drawing demos on my Youtube channel:
