Where are you from? I grew up in Rockville RI

What do you make? I make utilitarian pottery

How long have you been seriously pursuing art? I can’t recall the exact moment it happened, but it was during a required college art class that I first fell in love with clay—a discovery that ultimately shaped my artistic path.

What inspires you to create?

I have always been drawn to constructing things from natural materials, but for a long time I could not find a medium that was both malleable and enduring. That changed when I discovered clay. Its versatility allows for endless exploration, and once fired, it can last for generations when properly cared for.

I continue to explore the medium, as the depth and range of possibilities in clay are so vast that it feels almost impossible to reach every facet. My current work is inspired by patterns and the movement of materials through the firing process, focusing on the flow and transformation that occurs in the kiln.

Is there a work of art that has changed your life or how you view the world in some way?

Thomas Kinkade was an artist I admired for his ability to create surreal landscapes that conveyed peace, warmth, and a sense of calm.

As a member of SCAA, what do you like most about us?
