our monthly exhibits are free, open to thepublic, and feature art by local artists.

Exhibition categories

Open Juried: Open to all artists. Submit your artwork for consideration by a guest juror. Each exhibition has a different juror, so if your work isn’t selected, we encourage you to try again.

Member Exhibition: Open to SCAA members. Not a member? You can join when you drop off your artwork.

Invitation: The SCAA Exhibitions Director curates these exhibitions and invites selected members to show their work in the Main Gallery.

Submission: A new exhibition opportunity in our Small Gallery. Artists are invited to submit exhibition proposals for two exhibitions each year. Proposals are reviewed by an SCAA committee. [Submission details →]

    What does it mean to be here, now? Artists are invited to explore the present moment in all its complexity. Work may reflect personal experience, current events, everyday observations, changing landscapes, relationships, or simply the feeling of being alive in this time and place.

meet our exhibits director

Jason Fong oversees SCAA’s exhibitions program, working closely with artists and volunteers to bring each show to life. A ceramic artist working in both sculpture and pottery, Jason earned his BFA in ceramics and printmaking from the University of Michigan and has been dedicated to working in clay ever since. He also maintains a studio at Shady Lea Mill, where he continues to develop his own work. Learn more about Jason in his maker monday Interview.

You’ll find Jason involved in every stage of the exhibition process—from receiving artwork to installing shows—and always ready to connect with artists and visitors alike. For Jason, it’s the people and sense of community that make his role most rewarding.
