John Baylor

Jon Baylor is a potter, object maker, educator, and part time curator living in Wakefield, RI. He runs Salt Pond Pottery with his wife Ashley and is influenced by geometric patterns found in the natural world. He received a BFA from Syracuse University and has worked for Jay Lacouture at the Carolina Pottery as a student assistant focusing on wood and soda fired pottery forms. In addition to the assistantship, he has worked for Roseberry Winn pottery, Peter Pots, and Penns Creek pottery. Over the course of the past twenty years, he has taught at various community studios in southern New England, as well as The Bradley School and Salve Regina.
