Call for Art
46th Open Juried Clay Annual
April 11 - May 4, 2019
All artists are invited to submit up to 5 original works in clay. Works must have been finished in the last 2 years and NOT shown at SCAA previously.
Awards given at the Opening Reception on Thursday, April 11, 7 - 9 pm.
1st ($200), 2nd ($125), & 3rd ($75) place cash awards. 3 Honorable Mentions.
Members: $16 for single entry, $14 each for multiple entries (5 for $56)
Non-Members: $20 for single entry, $18 each for multiple entries.
Student / Military Veteran: $12 per entry (with valid ID).
Entry Fees are non-refundable.
SCAA assumes no liability for damage or loss. Any work not picked up after 60 days of the shows end will become the property of the SCAA.
SCAA retains 30% on all sales for members, 35% for non-members.
All entries must be hand-delivered to SCAA on the weekend of March 30 & 31 and during the week April 3-5, from 1-5 pm each day.
Entries not accepted may be picked up Wed - Sun, 1 - 5 pm, starting April 10. Accepted work should be picked up on Sunday, May 5, from 1 - 5 pm.
Juror: Maureen Mills
BA CHEMISTRY - Knox College, MFA CERAMICS AND DRAWING - University of Nebraska. Maureen is the Chair of Ceramics at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, a member of the Potters Guild and the American Craft council. She has a great depth of knowledge about ceramics from kiln building and firing, to glaze chemistry and slip casting. She has won many awards and is the author of “Surface Design for Ceramics” published by Lark Books. Maureen continues to create work using layers of imagery and pattern, allowing the wood firing process to dramatically accent color and pattern.

Jurying: April 6, 10 AM
Maureen will comment on the entries and select works for the exhibition. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Workshop: April 7, 9am – 4pm
Maureen will give a demonstration workshop ($75 members, $95 non-members) space is limited.
