It started when we asked our community to send us their artwork explaining how they felt about the pandemic.
Since then we've had themed exhibits that we've brought online to give you a glimpse into how artists interpret their art.

Art in Isolation
March - September 2020
Art is a reflection of our society. As our world changes, so does the way we express it.
We asked our community how their art can communicate, inspire, and soothe during unprecedented times.
This is what they shared.

Diaspora
Each artwork tells a story about the artist’s interpretation of diaspora and how it relates to cultural identities, inclusion/exclusion,
identity and diversity. Some artworks tell individual stories of how ancestry and heritage played into their cultural identity.
Other artworks speak to the bigger theme of the migration of cultural identities, challenging the ideas of an established world.
Our hope is that viewers will look, absorb and think of the meaning that each artwork conveys. Then combine all those viewpoints
and realize that this collective exhibit represents the makeup of who we are; a group made up of unique, diverse individuals.

Resilience
There are many interpretations of resilience and each tells a unique story. Some are very personal, some deal with politics and social issues.
Some use definitions of resilience as it might be used in physics or science. Despite the differences, a unifying theme among
each of these artists is the undying endurance of the human spirit.

From Where I Stand
Each person has a unique perspective of the world and its happenings. It is these perspectives that divide or unite us. By learning where someone else stands, perhaps we could have more compassion and understanding. This exhibition sought viewpoints from a multitude of artists on a variety of topics. From where we stand, maybe we aren't so different after all.
