Holiday Sale Committee Chair, Lynne Moulton lynnemoulton@gmail.com The Committee meets at intervals throughout 2019, first in January to evaluate the successes and failures of the previous year’s sale, and then starting in May on a monthly basis (as needed) to recommend any changes for the 2019 sale and to see that required deadlines for notifying sale participants and for advertising are met. At least 4-5 additional members are needed for this committee, plus participation by the SCAA staff. Exhibition Committee Chairperson, Jason Fong at exhibits@southcountyart.org Exhibition Director Jason Fong is seeking volunteers to assist with the gallery exhibits. The committee will be responsible for selecting jurors for our gallery shows and themes when applicable. Committee members may also assist with the hanging of the shows as well as publicizing them throughout the state. Buildings & Grounds Committee Chairperson, John Barbato, susanandjohn@yahoo.com Committee will assess the needs of the grounds, buildings, & galleries and present plans to the board; and once bids are in and approved, schedules the maintenance and repair. Create and update 1 year, 3 year, 5 and ten year plans for property repair, restoration and preservation. Finance Committee Chairperson, Steve Bienenfeld, CPA Treasurer at sbean@beancpa.com This committee meets with the treasurer and the elected officers, shall direct the investment and the reinvestment of the funds of the Association for the best financial interest of the Association and assesses the financial health of the organization. Development and Special Events Committee Chairperson, Paula Imbergamo at rhodyarts@gmail.com Committee will create and implement business strategies to promote growth of the association. This is a “creative” committee, looking at all areas including fundraising, events, marketing, social media, advertising, memberships, classes, gallery visitation and capital improvements to name just a few. Membership Committee Chair, Open info@southcountyart.org processes applications for membership and maintains a roll of members and their standing. Committee members promote membership, oversee benefits and make recommendations about planning events and activities. Planning Committee - SCAA Board The purpose of the planning committee is to support the board in their governance role by evaluating organizational growth, analyzing types of operational frameworks which will best meet current and future demand. Education Committee, Chair, Paula Imbergamo rhodyarts@gmail.com Committee researches qualifications for new instructors and classes. Reviews education programming trends and makes recommendations to the director and board to improve SCAA Educational Programming. This committee, evaluates existing programs, oversees program expansion or development, and facilitates board conversations about SCAA programs. Volunteer Committee Open Chairperson, Tricia Faraone is the Volunteer Coordinator for Holiday Sale and MAC sale. Focus of this committee is educating members of the association about the importance of their involvement and participation in SCAA events and projects. This committee can be developed to work with board and staff on activities to appreciate and honor volunteers. Each SCAA member is encouraged to evaluate his/her role in the association, and foster its continued success as volunteer supporters in whatever capacity best suited to time and abilities. Publicity, Marketing & Communications Committee Staff at info@southcountyart.org Posting to all social media: Facebook, Instagram, and Constant Contact, as well as organizing distribution of flyers & pamphlets to appropriate venues. Make posters for special events and posts them, sends PR to newspapers, writing content for newsletter and create content for brochures etc. Create and update Annual Marketing Plan. Hospitality Committee Chairperson, Christine Herron, christineherron@cox.net The Hospitality Committee is responsible for the refreshments, food & flowers at all the SCAA monthly Exhibition Openings. This is a really easy way to volunteer. Just dropping off a food item or flowers once a year to one of our openings. No meetings! We need 35 people. The more volunteers the more infrequently you are called! Chairperson reports to Kathleen Carland, Executive Director and/or Jason Fong, Exhibits Director. Pottery Studio Member Committee Chairperson, Denis Martin at dmartinri@gmail.com Serves as an advisory committee to the Executive Director and Board regarding issues arising from or affecting the Pottery Studio and its membership, and as a conduit for reciprocal transmission of information, ideas and requests between the members of the pottery studio and the SCAA Board of Directors. The committee consists of 5-6 members; one or two will be members of the Board with an interest in the operation of the Pottery Studio, selected by the President of the Board; one or two will be staff members appointed by the Director; three will be studio members elected by the membership of the studio. |
