We sure could use your help! Please join us & share your talents with one of our committees or just come help us out in the office. You can download an application to volunteer and/or to serve as a board member. Once you fill out an application email it to us. For more information, email or call the SCAA office at 783-2195.
Holiday Sale Committee The Committee begins meeting in August and meets at intervals thereafter to plan out the sale. At least 4-5 members are needed for this committee, plus participation by the SCAA staff. Be part of our annual sale to help make it a success! Exhibition Committee Chairperson, Jason Fong at [email protected] Exhibition Director Jason Fong is seeking volunteers to assist with the gallery exhibits. The committee will be responsible for selecting jurors for our gallery shows and themes when applicable. Committee members may also assist with the hanging of the shows as well as publicizing them throughout the state. Development and Special Events Committee Committee will create and implement business strategies to promote growth of the association. This is a “creative” committee, looking at all areas including fundraising, events, marketing, social media, advertising, memberships, classes, gallery visitation and capital improvements to name just a few. SCAA Board As a nonprofit member organization, SCAA relies on volunteers from within the membership to serve on our Board of Directors. It is the core governing structure of the Association. We would love to have some new Board members with financial and/or legal expertise. Board members with knowledge of historic preservation and construction would also be helpful as we manage buildings that are hundreds of years old. Board members with a wide variety of more general professional knowledge and expertise have been the backbone of the organization for decades. So, if you have the willingness to serve, you are needed and welcome to join. Artists and art-lovers are equally appreciated. Publicity, Marketing & Communications Committee Posting to all social media: Facebook, Instagram, and Constant Contact, as well as organizing distribution of flyers & pamphlets to appropriate venues. Make posters for special events and posts them, sends PR to newspapers, writing content for newsletter and create content for brochures etc. Hospitality Committee The Hospitality Committee is responsible for the refreshments, food & flowers at all the SCAA monthly Exhibition Openings. This is a really easy way to volunteer. Just dropping off a food item or flowers once a year to one of our openings. No meetings! We need 35 people. The more volunteers the more infrequently you are called! Pottery Studio Member Committee Serves as an advisory committee to the Executive Director and Board regarding issues arising from or affecting the Pottery Studio and its membership, and as a conduit for reciprocal transmission of information, ideas and requests between the members of the pottery studio and the SCAA Board of Directors. |
