💛 Every donation to our Annual Appeal will be matched up to $5000, thanks to our outgoing president, Lynne Moulton. As a passionate arts advocate she who knows first hand the importance of donations for us.
Lynne served on our board for six years, leading us through the pandemic and subsequent growth. We thrived under her leadership. Making your gift go twice as far to support our programs and community. Don’t miss a chance to make a bigger difference!" |

This past year, with your support, we achieved... Exhibitions 10 juried & open exhibitions with a record number of 1,300 entries, exhibiting 600 works. We awarded $3,400 in cash prizes, for member and non-member artists alike. In addition, two member invitational shows spotlighted 12 artist members. Education We offered 100 classes to over 600 participants from beginners to experienced artists. We introduced 13 new teachers to our community and provided a pay raise for all of our dedicated instructors. Our 401Gives fundraiser allowed us to offer free Arts and Wellness classes. Pottery Studio 60 pottery studio members and over 200 students used our studio this past year. We donated 183 bowls to the RI Foodbank's largest fundraiser. Scholarships We awarded over $1K in scholarships, which removed financial barriers, allowing everyone to participate in our classes and/or receive a discount on their membership. Art Talks We hosted six Art Talks this year by renowned RI artists that covered a wide range of topics, expanding our knowledge and supporting professional development. Art Markets Our festival and exhibition supplies helped members sell over $3,000 of artwork at the Farmers Market. Maker Mondays Our Maker Monday blog interviews a member artist each month. Sharing their personal history, artwork, and inspiration. Events A record 151 works were donated and stolen(!) at our popular Art Heist, see our photo gallery At our Evening Under the Trees we celebrated each other and raised additional funds with our handmade ice-cream bowls donated by our potters. Preservation Preserving our historic buildings is essential to our success. This year, we upgraded our Pottery Studio's electrical system, allowing us to have air conditioning and all kilns firing simultaneously. We are close to finishing our ADA Project (Americans with Disabilities Act) that will create a space accessible to people of all abilities. Many thanks to RISCA for helping us with the funds so we can be all-inclusive. Volunteers We had over 100 volunteers who gave their time to undertake often tedious tasks such as cleaning, labeling our mailings, loading/unloading kilns, working our sales, and administrative tasks. We couldn't have had such a successful year without them. |
“Thanks for giving all of us an opportunity to show our work while all the other galleries were closed during Covid-19. The work you and all the others at SCAA do for the artists is most inspiring.”
