Development Coordinator
Part Time | 8-10 hours a week In 1929, South County Arts Association (SCAA) was established as a nonprofit arts organization in Kingston, Rhode Island. Since its inception, SCAA has played a major role promoting arts participation. This is accomplished by encouraging the creation, visibility, and appreciation of artwork through membership, quality education, juried and organized exhibitions and shared artistic experiences. SCAA offers over 100 classes a year in pottery, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, arts wellness, and mixed media. Additionally, the historic Helme House Gallery hosts 11 exhibitions each year that include a wide variety of open-juried, invitational, and member exhibits that feature all mediums. Position Description Reporting to the SCAA Executive Director, candidates for this position should have a deep appreciation for the arts and prior experience with philanthropic activities in a nonprofit organization. The Development Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing all development initiatives of SCAA related to grant writing, the annual capital campaign, fundraising initiatives, giving strategies, and special events. This is a part-time (8-10 hours per week) position with additional hours possible. As a nonprofit organization, starting salary is $20/hour. Ceramics Instructor
Part time Contract Position $1,000/class | 2-4 classes/year South County Art Association is seeking experienced ceramics instructors for our adult pottery classes. Our classes run for eight weeks (both day and night classes) with each class meeting once a week for three hours. For wheel throwing classes, intermediate to advanced throwing skills. For hand building classes, expertise in pinch pots, slab, and coil methods. A thorough knowledge of glaze and glaze application is required. Role and Responsibilities
