Drop Off
All work must be unpacked at drop-off (and packaging removed). If work is dropped off late (after the completion of the gallery set-up), the artists must leave their artwork in the hallway. It will be displayed as space becomes available. Inventory sheets are not required, although artists are encouraged to make them for their own use.
Pickup
All work must be removed from the gallery by the artist (or a designated person). Commission checks will be distributed only after artwork is picked up. If you’re unavailable to pick up on those days please have a friend come by. We’ll be closed from December 24 until January 8.
Artwork
All original fine art is eligible, including paintings, drawings, pottery,
photography, sculpture, woven textiles, collage, jewelry and handmade cards (no t-shirts, knitted, crocheted items or plants with soil).
Label | Pricing | Sales
All work must be individually marked with a price and your artist’s identification code. Be careful that the price/id code is clear and not to be confused with inventory numbers or the $ sign. For consistency, use Avery #5424 white removable stickers. They can be found at Staples. Tags with strings are allowed only with the removable stickers on them. If a sticker falls off during the sale, the item will be removed from the floor until re-labeled by the artist. SCAA commission for all work in this sale is 30% of the selling price.
Pottery
Twenty (20) pieces of pottery for each artist will be displayed during initial set-up, as space allows, which is dependent on the number of participants and total pottery inventory. This total does not include mugs, basket items, or cards (see below.) For sets, label 1 of 2, 2 of 2 “set” with price on one piece only. No “2 for” pricing, ie: “$4 each or 2 for $6”.
Framed 2-Dimensional Artworks
As much as 10 sq. ft. max. of framed/wired 2-D work from each artist will be displayed during initial set-up, depending upon availability of wall space. More may be displayed as work sells. Work should not exceed a 15” x 20” frame size, or 300 sq. in. with the frame. All work must be original and created by the artist. Copies of original artwork are not permitted. Prints and photography prints are okay but must be signed individually (no posters, calendars, bookmarks etc.).
Unframed 2D Art
Must be matted and protected with plastic.
Jewelry | Small Items
These items should be packaged in individual display bags (no sandwich bags). Jewelry over $35 may be displayed in the locked jewelry case; but locked display-case-space is limited. Items will be arranged as fairly as possible by set-up committee. Please provide your own display props. Small, separate personal jewelry displays may be used subject to approval by the display committee and will be counted as baskets. The location of these displays will be determined by staff.
Baskets | Displays
Only two table displays/baskets are allowed per person. Baskets will be provided by SCAA. All display props must be dropped off by the November 23, deadline.
Inventory
Inventory may be brought in throughout the sale and placed in the back hall as space allows. Only volunteers working shifts are allowed to place or move merchandise on the sales floor. With any other special circumstance, please see the staff.
Liability
Work will be handled with all possible care. SCAA is not responsible for damage or theft occurring during set-up or sale.
