Pet & Animal Portrait Painting - January 8
Would you like to paint a portrait of a special pet or animal friend but don't know how to render a realistic likeness or even where to begin? Animal artist and instructor, Beth Drainville will show you how. We will start by discussing what makes a good reference photograph, how to take the best one possible or how to work within the limits of what you have available. Learn the fundamentals of composition, value and color. Block out the form by breaking down your image into manageable shapes and master techniques to paint hair, feathers, fur, and other textures.
Capture a pet's personality and spirit and be the artist of an animal portrait you can be proud of. Oil or acrylic artists of all levels are welcome. Click here for the Materials List.
