Loosening Up - Painting with Impact Expressively - September 16
If you are a painter who wishes to reach the viewers of your work on an emotional as well as a visual level, then "Loosening Up" is the course for you. Instructor Tom Martino, an impressionist plein-air painter in oils and watercolor, will guide you in the effective use of sketches as well as photo references.
After selecting your scene, you will learn to simplify, and use value masses, and contrasts in light, color, and color temperature to establish a painting plan with an effective composition. The idea is that the result of this planning will result in a painting which appears casual, fresh, and communicates a mood.
Basic drawing skill is the only prerequisite; otherwise, all skill levels in painting are welcome. All painting mediums (oil, watercolor, and acrylic) are acceptable.
