Making a Tea Bowl-Style Pinch Pot | Zoom | January 16
A pinch pot is a form of hand-made pottery produced from prehistoric times to the present. It does not require special equipment such as a pottery wheel and is not very messy, so can be done on your kitchen counter or dining room table, if you lack access to a pottery studio. It’s a good way to learn about the physical properties of pottery clay, and about how to turn a lump of clay into a functional and attractive vessel.
In this Zoom class, we will show you how to create a tea bowl-style pinch pot. Zoom will last approximately an hour and half. You will be able to review the video afterwards for reference. You will be provided with a kit containing everything needed to complete your own pinch pot. Once you create a pinch pot, it will be fired and glazed for you. You will be able to pick up your finished pinch pot after the glaze firing.
Pick up your art kit at SCAA anytime from January 7-11. We'll email further instructions after you register.
