Pendants in Porcelain | September 12
There is nothing quite like the smooth, white surface of porcelain. It is a perfect clay to mimic the texture of sea creatures, flower petals and seed pods. In this class students will be making contemporary flat pendants using simple tools to create natural textures with contemporary profiles. Students will be firing these components flat on hand built “firing biscuit trays” which will also be used for glaze firing.
In our second class students can shoose to handpaint their pendants with underglaze and/or transparent glazes or leave the clay “naked.” The last class is dedicated to finishing pendants by wet sanding them and adding leather cording. Please note that this is not a bead making class, all work is fired flat. Please view the materials list to see what you should bring and what SCAA will provide.
