Piercing & Cutout Decoration for Pottery | February 8
Piercing decoration refers to holes cut into clay as a decoration. Once the clay is leather-hard it can be pierced. In this three day workshop, Paula will demonstrate the techniques of piercing in combination with carving. The technique is drawn directly from her body of work. Students are to bring completely trimmed, leather-hard greenware for creating surface patterns of their own. The students should bring at least three pieces, one of which is a bowl, and another which is a cylinder and other surface techniques.
