The Art of Nature Journaling Plus a Mindful Outdoor Experience | On Location | September 11
At the heart of this 4-week series comes an opportunity to deepen your awareness of Nature’s soothing atmosphere, while also developing your unique style of nature journaling. You will be guided through a Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE), allowing your senses to connect to the outdoors, gaining inspiration from the living Earth. As we meander the landscape, our attention will be drawn to what appears, whether it be in the elements, flora, or fauna.
The second half of the class will be devoted to nature journaling styles and techniques in both visual and written formats. We will explore a different location in South County each week. This series is for students with a curious nature, interested in a variety of visual mediums, writing, mindful practices, and outdoor experiences. You will find tools to support your creativity plus overall health and well-being (Did you know that 20 minutes of breathing in a pine forest supports your immune system?).
During each class, interesting information about the More Than Human World will be interspersed throughout our time together. For students wanting to return from prior series, new lessons and information will be introduced.
What to bring? Have handy a journal with blank pages, #2 pencil with eraser, a favorite pen or extra fine sharpie or micron 05-03, and a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Other mediums and materials will be introduced but no need to purchase anything that does not pique your interest.
Please bring a $5 supply fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class to cover the cost of materials.
