Burl’s Plein Air Painting Two Day Workshop | September 14
Join me and others for a two-day Plein Air Workshop at Ninigret Park to explore the beauty of color and light the way it should be seen. Watercolor, acrylics, and oils are welcome. Being inspired by plein air artists Corot, Boudin, Pissarro, Monet, Sisley, and others made me realize how imperative it is to paint outdoors in the natural light. How fortunate to have them as my mentors. In looking at the beauty and wonder of Vermeer's work, you may notice that light and color radiates within the shadows. I have found working from photographs to be quite limiting. Shadows read dark and reflected light is almost non-existent.
First day Meeting Place- Ninigret Park at the tennis courts 12:45pm, if you can. We’ll head out from there.
Day one- Ninigret small pond, at the kayak launch.
Day two- Back side of the beach at Ninigret.
Suggested stores to buy supplies- Jerry’s Artarama, Blick, Michaels, Hobby Lobby.
