Non-Toxic Etching | February 25
During the past two decades many working within the etching process have slowly transitioned away from its 500-year-old traditional materials and methods to a less toxic format. This class will take everyone from novice to the experienced printmaker in a less toxic direction with positive results.
The class will begin with dry point and familiarize students with etching tools and transferring an image onto a Plexiglas plate. Next, we will make soft ground beeswax etchings on zinc plates as we continue to add elements to the printing process. The session will end with participants learning the steps to making a successful hard ground etching.
All materials will be supplied. A $20 materials fee will be required, Cash or a check made out to the instructor Robert Pillsbury should be provided at the first session.
