This class is concerned with beginning painting with feeling, establishing excitement beyond subject. Carry the initial emotion through the painting as the gesture, drawing, and color is refined. Sketchy applications of color will add value and temperature that help evoke a specific mood, and we will attempt to finish the paintings without overworking them. Bring photos, old paintings, and any sketches you have done to use as subject matter. This class is appropriate to all media involving color (oil, watercolor, pastel, oil pastel) and all student levels, beginner to advanced, are welcome.
