The course provides students with a foundation for creative expression in oil painting. Sharon will start with the basics of drawing shapes to construct a balanced composition. Oil painting techniques such as using a brush stroke techniques, color choices and color mixing will be taught. Also emphasis will be placed on depicting light and shadow by learning how to control value ranges. Through practice and demonstration you will gain insight into the intricacies of oil painting so you may feel comfortable to further explore this medium.
